1866 - 1949

Ernest William Haslehust was born in Walthamstow, London and was a prolific painter of British landscapes in watercolour. He studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London and exhibited regularly at many venues, including the Royal Academy.
He was an illustrator for the series of travel books, "Beautiful England". He also designed posters for the LNER (London and North Eastern Railway) and LMS (London Midlands and Scottish Railway) as well as featuring in The Illustrated London News and The Tatler.
