Pam Green

Originally from London, my family emigrated to Australia in 1962, and I returned to Britain in 1973. I have lived and worked in the Bangor area since coming as a student in 1977. I revived my childhood love of making art in the 1990s with an Open College of the Arts Painting course.

I have lived in Bethesda for over twenty years, working from my studio with views of the valley. I enjoy many media and subjects including still life and portraits; most recently I have been concentrating on life drawing and creating images from these studies. This year I have also begun clay modelling portraits and figures. My work has been shown in Oriel Mon, Gwynedd Museum and Gallery, Alpine Café Betws y Coed and in Open exhibitions at Bangor, Chester, Theatre Clwyd, MOMA and Royal Cambrian Academy.

With others, in 2010 I created the annual Gwyl Afon Ogwen weekend to celebrate the river, the valley and the work of local artists.
