Artist
Alfred Worthington
1835 - 1925
Alfred Worthington was born in Dover in 1835. He moved to Aberystwyth in about 1870, on the advice of his doctor, due to his
poor health.
It was at this time, that he opened a photographic and artist studio in Aberystwyth. When he tired of photography, he took to
painting a variety of domestic items, nicknacks and also slate fireplaces.
He was the last of the artisan painters in Wales.
