Charles Leslie (1839-1886) was born in Islington, London and was a member of The Williams Family of painters.
He was one of the first Victorian landscape artists to portray scenes of Scottish and Welsh moorlands and mountains. His
scenes often included still, calm waters.
Leslie exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1856-1862 and also at the British Institution.
The National Library of Wales holds examples of his work.
