Allen Seaby (1867-1953) was born in London. He was a painter,illustrator, woodcut artist and author. He studied at Reading School of Art and also went on to be a Professor of Fine Art at Reading.
He was an influential exponent of Colour Woodblock work, choosing birds, animals and UK scenes as his subject matter
